Asolo Prosecco

DOCG since 2009 · tank method

Asolo Prosecco (or simply Asolo) is a DOCG in the hills around Asolo and Montello, province of Treviso, for Glera-based wine whose Spumante Superiore is made in autoclave.1 Its bottle-fermented "sui lieviti" version must spend at least 90 days on lees.1

Before that the area was part of the DOC Montello e Colli Asolani, created in 1977.1 The current text was last modified by decree of 9 September 2024. Regulation (EU) 2023/1412 changed the name to "Asolo Prosecco" or "Asolo", and "Asolo" alone may be used on labels.1
