Bianchetta Trevigiana
VIVC 1329 · Brambana × Durella
Bianchetta Trevigiana is a white Italian variety (VIVC 1329) whose parents, confirmed by DNA markers, are Brambana and Durella.1 Prosecco rules allow it as a complement to Glera, up to 15% together with the other listed varieties.2
Identity and pedigree
The Vitis International Variety Catalogue (VIVC) lists Bianchetta Trevigiana under number 1329, with white berries and Italy as country of origin.1 Its pedigree confirmed by DNA markers is Brambana × Durella.1 VIVC records 32 synonyms, including Bianchetta, Bianchetta Gentile, Vernanzina, Weissvernatsch and Perera Verde.1
The synonym Perera Verde matters for readers of the Prosecco rules, which list Perera as a separate variety. VIVC places the name Perera Verde under Bianchetta Trevigiana; a VIVC passport for the Prosecco variety Perera itself has not been located.1 See Perera.
In sparkling wine
Bianchetta Trevigiana is one of the complementary varieties of the Prosecco area, always next to Glera as the base.
