naturherb

German · naturally dry

Naturherb is the German EU-listed equivalent of brut nature: sugar under 3 g/L, with no sugar added after secondary fermentation.1

German has its own word chain for the dry end of the scale: naturherb for brut nature, extra herb for extra brut (0-6 g/L) and herb for brut (under 12 g/L).1 Further up come extra trocken, trocken and halbtrocken.1 Actual sugar may differ from the labelled term by no more than 3 g/L.2 Official German labelling guidance lists these sweetness categories for Sekt b.A..3,4 See sugar scale and Germany.
