herb

German · dry, brut

Herb is the German EU-listed equivalent of brut, meaning a sugar content of less than 12 g/L.1

German forms a short series from it: naturherb for brut nature (under 3 g/L), extra herb for extra brut (0-6 g/L) and herb for brut.1 The sweeter terms switch to trocken: extra trocken for extra dry and halbtrocken for demi-sec.1 Actual sugar may differ from the labelled term by no more than 3 g/L.2 Official guidance lists these sweetness categories for Sekt b.A..3,4 See sugar scale and Germany.
