dosaggio zero

Italian · zero dosage

Dosaggio zero is the Italian EU-listed equivalent of brut nature, and one of the Franciacorta sweetness types.1,2

Like brut nature, it means sugar under 3 g/L, with no sugar added after secondary fermentation.1 The Franciacorta disciplinare sets the permitted dosage terms by wine type, and dosaggio zero is among them.3,2 Satèn, by contrast, may be marketed only as brut.2 French equivalents are pas dosé and dosage zéro; German, naturherb.1 Cava uses Brut Nature for 0-3 g/L with no added sugar.4 See Franciacorta, brut nature and sugar scale.
