Corpinnat

What kind of designation it is

Corpinnat is a private collective brand registered as an EU trademark (EUIPO) by the Associació de Viticultors i Elaboradors CORPINNAT. It is not a DO: its rules are set in the brand regulation, not in a public specification.² The association was founded in April 2018.¹ The current regulation was approved unanimously on 23 March 2026.²

The regulation does not mention DO Cava. Accounts of its founders leaving DO Cava are not covered here because no primary source for them was verified.

Vineyard and winery rules

• Vineyards and winery must be organic, certified by the Catalan organic council (CCPAE).²
• The entire harvest must be picked by hand.²
• Grapes must be pressed and vinified entirely in the member's own, non-shared winery in the zone.²
• At least 75% of the grapes must come from the member's own vineyards or from contracts of at least three years.²
• Bought grapes carry a minimum price, set at €0.943/kg for the 2026 harvest.²
• The maximum yield is 12,000 kg/ha.²

Method and ageing

Wines are made by the traditional method, and disgorgement is mandatory. Wines made by the ancestral method may not exceed 20% of the member's sales in the previous year.²

Scale

In 2025 the brand had 19 member wineries and 1,322 ha of vineyards. Members sold 3,000,055 bottles, 21% of them abroad.¹ For comparison, DO Cava sold 190,010,000 bottles in the same year.³
