Qualitätsperlwein b.A.
German · quality semi-sparkling wine from a specified region
Qualitätsperlwein b.A. is the German PDO semi-sparkling wine from a specified region (bestimmtes Anbaugebiet).1,2
It is the semi-sparkling counterpart of Sekt b.A.: Perlwein with a protected origin. In EU terms it belongs to semi-sparkling wine, with 1 to 2.5 bar of the wine's own CO2 at 20 °C.3 The German rosé term Weißherbst may be used for it only if the wine is made solely from wine eligible to be called Weißherbst.1 A protected origin follows the EU PDO logic: grapes exclusively from the defined area.4 See Germany.
