VIVC is maintained by JKI Geilweilerhof and identifies each variety by a prime name and a variety number.1 For Cabernet Franc the pedigree field is empty, so the catalogue names no parents.1
Use in sparkling wine
The Crémant de Loire rules list "cabernet franc N" among the black varieties.2
In the same list the white varieties include Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay, and the black ones include Pinot Noir.2
The cahier des charges of Crémant de Bordeaux was not checked for this page, so no rule for Cabernet Franc there is quoted.
The Crémant de Loire rule is quoted from an INAO draft amendment published for national opposition.
