Identity in VIVC
VIVC lists Trousseau Noir under number 12668, with black berries and France as the country of origin.1 Among its 57 synonyms, two are marked as official names in other countries: Bastardo in Portugal and Cyprus, and Merenzao in Spain.1 Others include Bastardo Preto and Capbreton Rouge.1
The field "pedigree confirmed by markers" reads "? × Savagnin = Traminer": Savagnin is one parent, the other is unknown.1 VIVC gives Savagnin the same role in the pedigree of Pinot Noir.3
VIVC is maintained by JKI Geilweilerhof and identifies each variety by a prime name and a variety number.1
