quart

French · bottle format

The quart is a Champagne bottle of 20 cl.1

In the range

It is the smallest format on the Comité Champagne list; the next one up is the demie (demi-bouteille) (37.5 cl).1 Formats under 37.5 cl are exempt from the same-bottle rule, so they may be filled by transvasage, an isobaric transfer of the wine from one container to another.2,3 For vintage Champagne the year appears on the label and on the cork, or on another closure for formats of 0.20 L or less.4
