History

André-Michel Pierlot, a former cooper and bottler, settled in Tours-sur-Marne in 1812 as a champagne merchant. Eugène Laurent later took over from Alphonse Pierlot and died in 1887; his widow, Mathilde-Emilie Perrier, ran the company and added her name, creating Veuve Laurent-Perrier.1 In 1889 she launched a "Grand Vin Sans Sucre", a wine without added sugar.1 See brut nature.

In 1939 Marie-Louise de Nonancourt bought the house. Her son Bernard de Nonancourt became its head in 1948 at 28, when it had about twenty employees and sold 80,000 bottles.1 In 1999 the group was listed on the Paris stock exchange.1 Cellar masters named by the house: Edouard Leclerc (1950), Alain Terrier (1983), Michel Fauconnet (2004) and Olivier Vigneron (2025).1
