History
According to the house, François Delamotte, born in Reims in 1722, an alderman of the city and a vineyard owner in Cumières, founded a champagne house under his name in Reims in 1760, with cellars under his residence.1 He later went into partnership with his eldest son Alexandre as Delamotte Père & Fils.1 His youngest son Nicolas-Louis returned from Malta in 1798 and joined the house; as president of the Chamber of Commerce he helped organise the coronation of Charles X in 1825.1
Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Laurent-Perrier
In 1927 Marie-Louise de Nonancourt revived the house in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Côte des Blancs.1 Her son Charles ran it from 1948 to 1988. In 1988 her other son, Bernard de Nonancourt, head of Laurent-Perrier, brought Delamotte into the Laurent-Perrier group and in the same year bought the neighbouring house of Salon.1 Since 1997 Didier Depond has managed both houses.1

The Union des Maisons de Champagne lists the house in the Laurent-Perrier group with 5 vineyard villages and no published area.2 It lists four wines: Brut, Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Blancs Millésimé and Rosé.2 See blanc de blancs.
