House · Damery · founded 1920

Lenoble is a Champagne house in Damery in the Vallée de la Marne, founded in 1920 by Armand Raphaël Graser under the name A.R. Lenoble.1,2

History

According to the house, Armand Raphaël Graser, son of a wine merchant of Alsatian origin, founded it in Damery in 1920 and named it A.R. Lenoble, while continuing his trading business.1 His son Joseph Graser, mayor of Damery, succeeded him; the house then passed to Jean-Marie Malassagne, the founder's grandson, who ran it with his wife Colette.1 In the fourth generation Anne Malassagne took over, and her brother Antoine joined as chef de cave.1 In 2023 the house passed to the Frère-Gallienne family.1

Vineyard

The Union des Maisons de Champagne gives 15 ha in 3 villages and names no group.2 The house describes vines first in the upper Vallée de la Marne, an area for Meunier, later extended to the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims; it names Chouilly (grand cru) and Bisseuil (premier cru).1
