History

According to the house, Edouard Brun was born in July 1875 into a family of coopers and worked with his father on tirages made for other producers (tirages à façon).1 In 1898 he founded the house with a few friends as a limited partnership.1 Edmond Lefevre, a grower's son who had worked for a house in Aÿ, joined in 1927, and the house dates its present buildings to 1928.1 Brun died in 1952. Lefevre made the company a société anonyme in 1960 and in 1968 handed it to his children, Mr and Mrs Delescot-Lefevre.1 Their sons joined in 1994: Philippe for the vineyard and winemaking, Emmanuel for finance and sales.1

Vineyard and cellar

The Union des Maisons de Champagne gives 8 ha of own vines and names no group.2 The house describes a family vineyard of about ten hectares in premier and grand cru villages, and says that at harvest the juices are kept in tanks, casks or foudres, separated by village and cru.4 See tirage and premier cru.
