'Vigne de' or 'Vignoble de' is the wording required in Champagne when a commune name outside the listed communes is used on a label.1
The Champagne cahier des charges allows only a cadastral lieu-dit or a commune name on the label.1 The specification also lists communes by status: 17 for grand cru and 42 further communes for premier cru.1,2 The 'Vigne de' wording applies when the commune named is outside the listed communes.1 Champagne counts 319 crus in all.3 All 17 grand cru communes are in the Marne department.4 See cru, single-vineyard and Champagne.
